Sentosa Island

Exploring Sentosa Island: Singapore Tourism

Singapore is full of exciting places to visit, but Sentosa Island is one of the best! It’s a place where you can relax, have fun, and experience some of the most exciting attractions in the country. I have visited Sentosa Island several times and on each occasion I have had enjoyed exploring beaches, adventure rides, theme parks, and delicious food spots. If you’re planning a trip to Singapore, Sentosa should be at the top of your list!

Here’s my experience and the best things to do on Sentosa Island.

Arriving at Sentosa Island

Cable car ride with a beautiful view of Sentosa Island

There are a few different ways to get to Sentosa, but I chose the cable car and honestly, I couldn’t have made a better choice. Floating high above the city, I had a full panoramic view of the island, the beaches, the lush greenery, and the sparkling coastline. It felt like I was being slowly introduced to a new world from above.

What really amazed me was how much you could take in just from that short ride. I spotted Universal Studios, the hotels, the waterfront, and even little pockets of nature I didn’t expect to see in such a tourist-heavy area. The entire experience made me feel like a kid again. I highly recommend this for anyone visiting this amazing island.

The First Stop: Skyline Luge Sentosa

As soon as I stepped foot on Sentosa Island, I made my way straight to the Skyline Luge. I had heard people rave about it before, and trust me, it lives up to the hype. If you love adventure but don’t want anything too extreme, this ride hits the sweet spot. You hop into a small, low cart and basically steer yourself down a long, curvy track.

The best part? You control your own speed. Want to go slow and enjoy the view? You can. Want to zoom down like you’re racing a friend? Go for it. It’s like go-karting and a roller coaster had a baby, but it’s much easier to handle and way more laid-back. I tried out a few of the different tracks, and somehow each one felt more exciting than the last.

One minute you’re coasting through leafy bends, the next you’re picking up speed on a straightaway with the wind in your face. I couldn’t stop grinning. Honestly, whether you’re here with family, friends, or even solo like I was, the Skyline Luge is a must. It’s the kind of activity that brings out your inner child and makes you want to go back for just one more ride. And maybe even one more after that.

After the adrenaline rush from the Luge, I took some time to walk around and explore the island. Sentosa is huge, and there’s so much to see and do. There is a ton of things there to keep you entertained. Whether is nature you love,  adventure, or just relaxing on the beach, there seems to be a ton of enjoyable things for everyone, regardless of your taste.

One of the best things about Sentosa is that you don’t have to walk everywhere. The island has shuttle buses and trams that take you from one attraction to another for free. I hopped on a bright blue shuttle bus, which made it super easy to travel across the island. It’s a great option, especially when it’s hot outside! If you visit, make sure to use these free transport options to save time and energy.

Sentosa’s Beautiful Walkways & Decorations

Everywhere I went, I noticed that Sentosa was beautifully decorated. The walkways, seating areas, and gardens were full of bright colors and creative designs. The island really knows how to create a fun and inviting atmosphere. It’s a great place to take photos, relax, or just enjoy the lively surroundings.

Universal Studios Singapore (The Highlight of Sentosa)!

One of the biggest attractions on Sentosa Island is Universal Studios Singapore. This theme park is filled with thrilling rides, fun shows, and movie-themed attractions.

As soon as I saw the famous Universal Studios globe, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience. The park has different zones, each based on a popular movie or theme.

Some of my favorite rides were honestly unforgettable. The Transformers 3D ride completely pulled me into the action and had me grinning the whole time. The Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure was another highlight. Between the splashes and the surprise dinosaur encounters, it was just pure fun. And for anyone who loves a good adrenaline rush, the Battlestar Galactica roller coaster is a must. It’s intense, fast, and absolutely thrilling.

If you love movies and roller coasters, Universal Studios Singapore is a must-visit!

Trying Different Foods on Sentosa Island

After hours of fun, I was starving! Luckily, Sentosa has amazing food options. I stopped at Malaysian Food Street, where I found delicious and affordable dishes. They serve authentic Malaysian food, including chicken rice, laksa, and satay skewers. Inside the food hall, there were even more options… from Singaporean dishes to Western food.

Sensory Scape

While walking around Sentosa, I stumbled upon Sensoryscape. I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It’s not an adrenaline-pumping attraction like Skyline Luge or the beach clubs, but there’s something really calming and refreshing about the whole space. What exactly is this Sensoryscape?

It’s basically a nature-inspired walkway that connects Resorts World Sentosa to the beaches. But it’s more than just a path. You’re surrounded by greenery, gentle sounds, and small design details that make you slow down and take it all in. One moment you’re walking through a lush tunnel of plants, the next you’re pausing at a water feature or noticing the scent of flowers in the air.

Honestly, I wasn’t even planning to stop there, but I ended up taking my time and really enjoying the vibe. If you’re looking for a peaceful break between all the action on the island, Sensoryscape is definitely worth walking through. It kind of resets your mood and gives you a different perspective of Sentosa
