Is this the Cheapest Hotel in Accra?

If you’re planning a trip to Accra, Ghana, on a budget, I’ve got an interesting spot to share. I stayed at Sharpnet Guest House, which might just be the cheapest hotel I’ve ever booked in Accra. The price? Only $25 per night. Located in Osu, one of the busiest and most central neighborhoods in Accra, it’s a real bargain. That being said, let’s talk about the experience.

Small But Equipped

The room is tiny. I would say it is about 10×8 feet. But don’t let that fool you. The management of the facility equips the room with everything you’d expect for a functional stay:

  • A small desk

  • A bed

  • A mini fridge

  • A fan and an air conditioner

For the price, I was actually impressed with what was packed into the space.

The Bathroom: Simple but Clean

The bathroom is very compact, but it’s clean and had running hot water. And that’s is all I really needed.

Prime Location in Osu

Location-wise, Sharpnet Guest House is a gem. You’re right in the heart of Osu, which means:

  • Close to restaurants and bars

  • A short ride to tourist attractions

  • Less than 20 minutes to the airport

The Catch: Nightlife Noise

The biggest downside? Noise. Osu is known for its vibrant nightlife, and this hotel is surrounded by bars and clubs. At night, expect loud music until the early hours. If you’re a light sleeper, keep that in mind.

Secure rooms, but the outside noise is unavoidable at night.

Stepping deeper into my room, you quickly realize just how compact and efficient the space is. It’s small, yes, but everything you need is within arm’s reach.

The bathroom, as shown here, is tiny but gets the job done. There’s a hot water heater for showers, which is a huge plus for a $25-a-night stay in Accra. The space is tight, so don’t expect to do much stretching in here, but it’s clean and functional.

A cozy single bed with surprisingly fresh sheets.

The bed, again, isn’t anything fancy, but it’s clean and comfortable enough after a long day exploring the city. The bedding is basic, but I appreciated how well-kept it looked when I arrived.

As expected in a budget hotel, the toilet is a simple flush type. Nothing remarkable, but again, clean and well-maintained.

A functional workspace… tight but handy for digital nomads or anyone needing to jot down travel notes.

For such a tiny room, I was pleased to find a small desk with a chair, a kettle, and basic coffee/tea supplies. It’s perfect if you need to send emails or plan your next day in Accra.

There’s even a TV mounted on the wall, which is a nice touch, plus a few hangers to store your clothes. Don’t expect luxury, but honestly, for the price, I was impressed by how much they squeezed into such a small space.

My Verdict

Would I stay here again? Honestly, yes. For just $25 per night, you’re getting:

  • A clean room

  • Air conditioning

  • A super central location

If you can handle the noise and you’re just looking for a place to sleep and shower, Sharpnet Guest House is a solid 7/10 in my book.
