lively street scene taken in Chinatown, Singapore, with Mustafa Centre in the background

As far as my travel bucket list, Singapore is one of only two or three other countries I’d really like to see before I go. I’m not such interested in seeing the world as I am places that really intrigue me.

The chief of this blog, Kojo Enoch, has been fortunate enough to spend extended time in the Lion City.  And sometimes, he provides content which gets me to fantasizing about being there.

For instance, the featured pic was taken in the midst of Singapore’s Chinatown.  This is an area I’ve done a lot of research on and know it’s a commercial hub comparable to, say, New York’s Times Square.  The difference though is that whereas Chinatown does have its high-end merchants, there is more of an emphasis, to my understanding, on affordability.

I can also tell from the featured pic that there’s an ample amount of money changing going on there.  There’s even a couple of changers right on the same corner.  I can’t say that I’ve ever seen two FOREX shops right next to each like that before.

That implies two things.  First, there really must be a lot of foreigners/visitors in Singapore, Secondly, such individuals spend a considerable amount of time (shopping) in Chinatown.

So yeah, I hope to hit up Singapore’s Chinatown one day.  The streets look a little tight but well organized and clean, as to be expected of the Lion City.
