What Travellers Should Know

Digital arrival card

Foreign travellers entering through Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City are currently encouraged to complete Vietnam’s digital arrival card before arrival. The system is not currently mandatory at this airport, but requirements can change or expand to other entry points with limited notice.

Health declaration

From 1 July 2026, travellers entering or transiting through Vietnam may be required to complete a health declaration. This may include providing information about vaccinations, so travellers should check the latest requirements before departure.

Visa and eVisa rules

Visa requirements depend on nationality. Vietnam offers visa-free access to eligible nationalities and electronic visas for eligible travellers. An eVisa can allow stays of up to 90 days with multiple entries, but travellers must use eligible entry and exit points.

Dengue

Vietnam is currently included in a travel health notice for higher-than-expected dengue activity. Travellers should take precautions against mosquito bites, particularly in areas experiencing increased transmission.

Tropical storm season

Vietnam’s tropical storm season normally runs from May to November. Storms can cause flooding, landslides and temporary disruption to flights, roads and rail services. Travellers should monitor forecasts when severe weather is approaching.

Latest Travel Changes

Vietnam introduced a digital arrival card pilot at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City from 15 April 2026. Foreign arrivals are currently encouraged to complete it before entering the country.

No major nationwide transport disruption identified

Commercial flights and Vietnam’s principal airports continue to operate. Current issues do not amount to a nationwide aviation or border disruption.
