There’s something about coastal Ghana that just hits different. I honestly don’t know precisely what it is but the sea isn’t just water out here. You can clearly see it is life. It feeds people and shapes the culture. In addition to this, the sea sets the pace for each day.

In these fishing communities in Africa, you won’t find shiny skyscrapers or fancy cruise ships. What you’ll find here instead is something real. And I’m talking about boats carved by hand, old nets being repaired on the ground, and people who carry generations of knowledge without ever needing to say much.

This is the Africa I want to show you. Not the one you see constantly in the headlines. I’m talking of the real one. The one I’ve walked through with my own eyes.

The photos you’re about to see tell that story. They tell the story of the work, the hustle, the beauty, and the soul of a place that’s often overlooked but never lacking in strength or character.

Traveler. Storyteller. Curious about how people live around the world. I created Explore With Kojo to share real stories from the places I visit and to inspire smart, honest travel.
