If you have ever been to places like Golden Bay, Blue Lagoon (on Comino Island), and St. Peter’s Pool you’ll understand what I’m saying. Believe me when I say these places are straight-up paradise. Whether you’re into swimming, snorkeling, or just relaxing by the water with a book or your camera, these beaches are something else.
2. You’re Basically Walking Through History
As someone who loves to explore places with stories behind them, Malta blew me away. This small country has some of the oldest temples in the world. Believe it or not but some of these temples are older than the pyramids. I know it is very hard to believe but it is true!
And cities like Mdina (which they call the “Silent City”) and Valletta, the capital, feel like something out of a movie. The narrow streets, old buildings, and ancient churches make it feel like you’re in a real-life time capsule.
3. Sunshine All Year Round
One reason I keep going back? The weather. I don’t like the cold at all, so Malta is a dream. Even in winter, it feels more like spring. The sun is almost always out, and it just lifts your mood instantly. It’s the kind of place where you can walk around comfortably without layering up. Even in January, the weather is still decent.
4. The Food? Oh Man… the Food
Maltese food surprised me in the best way. It’s a mix of Mediterranean, Italian, and even Arabic flavors, and it’s delicious. My personal favorite is pastizzi. Also, don’t leave Malta without trying rabbit stew, which is a national dish. And if you’re into seafood, this is the place to be. Everything’s fresh and full of flavor.
5. English Makes Everything Easy
Another big plus is that English is an official language in Malta, so getting around, asking for directions, reading signs, or just having a chat with locals is smooth. You never feel lost or out of place, and for travelers like me, that just makes the experience so much better.
